Jim Peplinski’s Leasing has an immediate opportunity for a Risk & Receivables Manager. This position is a national role, and could be based out of our Toronto, Calgary or Edmonton branch.  

Overall Responsibility: 

Responsible for the efficient operations of the risk adjudication, accounts receivable and insurance functions.

Position Objectives: 

  • To contribute to profitable revenue generation through minimization of credit risk
  • To maintain the A/R DSO (days sales outstanding) as per agreed upon performance standards
  • To establish, monitor and improve risk policies and processes, work with sales in structuring credits, lead, direct, manage and develop the risk & collection team
  • To ensure that systems are in place to safeguard company assets

Core Areas of Responsibility:

(i) Credit

  • Ensure daily processing of credit applications and adjudication of commercial and consumer credit is conducted in a timely fashion
  • Conduct annual credit reviews for commercial credit facilities
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with JP sales team members
  • Manage the daily duties and provide leadership to the risk team
  • Manage relationships with credit reporting services

(ii) Insurance

  • Oversee insurance related risk areas
  • Review and approve all clients who wish to self–insure their portfolio
  • Provide authorization for insurance deductibles
  • Ensure that all insurance claims and legal suits are processed, represented and monitored in a timely fashion

(iii) Accounts Receivable

  • Manage, direct and monitor collection activity

(iv) Administration

  • Monitor and review administrative processes within the department
  • Negotiate and administer bankruptcies and receiverships
  • Manage third party collection service providers
  • Manage and direct vehicle seizures and repossessions
  • Resolve insurance non-compliance issues
  • Assist with customer enquiries and concerns

Direct Reports: Credit and Collections Analysts

Attributes, Experience and Education Required: 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a risk management role
  • Completion of a diploma in a relevant field or related experience
  • Completion of the Credit Institute of Canada CCP program or Credit Specialist designation is an asset
  • Solid understanding of financial statement analysis
  • Automotive or fleet management experience is an asset
